Magazine Summer 2021

The is article in biannual magazine from The Irish Vintage Engine & Tractor Association hopes to provide everyone with an interest in vintage engines, tractors and indeed, everything relating to the vintage world, with lots of useful information. This a piece from Coolgreany Vintage Run held in September 2020 insead of the annual Vintage day.

The Coolgreany Vintage club held a road run which had two route’s on Sunday 13th September last year and it was a great success for the current time’s. 

There was great entertainment provided from both near and far with car’s, tractors, truck’s, bike’s and steam engine’s from many eras. On the day the club had a large field with vehicles lined up to join either of the two route’s.

IVETA Magazine Summer 2021

The total amount presented by the Coolgreany Vintage Club was €2,650 on Friday 18th September, outside the Coolgreany Inn.

The Committee would like to thank everyone, including the participant’s, steward’s and volunteer’s involved in the preparation of the field and route’s for the day. 

Unfortunately due to current time’s, the 3rd Vintage Day for 13th September 2020 was last year was cancelled last year and replaced with a road run to mark the occasion. We intend to plan and hold the 4th Vintage Day on Sunday 12th September 2021. Thank you all for you support.

Presentation of proceeds to local community amenities were the Coolgreany Vintage club give the proceeds of €3550, at the May Byrne trust.

Proceeds of €3,600 of successful Road Run were allocated, €3,000 were handed over to the Gap Vintage Club and €600 was added to to Coolgreany Support Fund.

Friday 4th October 2019

Proceeds of the 2nd Vintage Day was presented on Friday 4th October 2019 at Coolgreany Inn.  Were a number of local groups received €250 Coolgreany Handball, €250 Coolgreany Tidy Towns, €500 Irish Pilgrimage Trust, €1,500 Scoil Iosagain, Coolgreany National School, €500 May Byrne Trust, €250 Coolgreany Christmas Lights, also â‚¬2,000 St. Aidan's Services, Gorey.

2nd Coolgreany Vintage Day

Were people enjoyed a great Family Day, then Coolgreany Vintage Day in Coolgreany.

A great selection of Tractors, Steam Engines & other engines were on view also there was Old Time Threshing, Forging, & many other old-time acts.

For the younger folk there was a Bouncy Castle & other Side Shows, like sponge throwing, ringing bottles & more.

Plenty of Burgers & Chips, Tea & Sandwiches that helped keep the body fully topped up.

Sunday 28th October 2018

Coolgreany Vintage Club hosted it's first Road Run. All proceeds were given to to Coolgreany Support Fund. This was a support fund set up by the Coolgreany Vintage Club to support locals in need.

Coolgreany vintage club presenting a cheque to the value of €4000 to the North Wexford Hospice and a cheque to the value of €2000 to Coolgreany Tidy Towns, the money was raised from a vintage day which we organised , this was a great achievement and a big well done to all involved.

Despite all Rumours to the Contrary in our Area, All Monies Donated will be acknowledged immediately after our Vintage Day.

Coolgreany Cúil Ghréine, meaning "nook of the sun" is a village located in north County Wexford. Nearby major towns are Arklow and Gorey. It is located 6km from the M11 Dublin - Wexford road Exit 21 and 22, follow signs for Inch at garage turn to Sign post Coolgreany L1004.

October  2019

The Coolgreany Vintage Club held it's 2nd Vintage day on 8th September 2019. 

The proceeds raised were for €250 Coolgreany Handball, €250 Coolgreany Tidy Town's, €500 Irish Pilgrimage Trust, €1,500 Scoil Iosagain, Coolgreany National School, €500 May Byrne Trust, €250 Coolgreany Christmas lights and €2,000 for St. Aidan's Services Gorey.

The presentation of these funds was on 4th October in the Coolgreany Inn. Piece was noted and pictured in Gorey Guardian on 15th October 2019.

2ND VINTAGE DAY

September  2019

We all had an enjoyable family day filled with great entertainment at the Coolgreany Vintage Day in Coolgreany on the 13th September was differently the place to be.

ROAD RUN 

Coolgreany Vintage Club & The Gap Vintage Club joined together for this years Road Run. Proceeds were raised for Coolgreany Support Fund & Jimmy Kinsella Ballythomas Fund.

The Road Run on Sunday 27th October gathered a crowd of people in support of the two clubs and the fund raising. The vehicle gathered at theCommunity Field  Coolgreany and departed the routes on to the street

Both routes taken lead to the pitstop at the local pub of Jimmy Kinsella at the Gap Pub, Ballythomas. Followed by
refreshments afterwards in Coolgreany Inn along with a giant give away at the raffle.

The first Vintage Day was organised for September after month of planning and organising the committee and roles  for the first time for the village of Coolgreany 2018.


The village and participators were great support in helping raise the proceeds.
