Re-creation Project

The re-enactment of old local photographs. In the Gap Arts Festival Re-Creation Project, the part of the Coordinator was played by Garreth Keogh, the photographs were played by Jacinta Mc Govern, Mary Fleming, Aisling Leonard, Terence White and Garreth Keogh, the part of the mentor was played by Padraig Grant.

The Editor was Terence White and Graphic Designer was played Mary Fleming.
​
The Gap Arts Festival would like to thank everyone who participated in the Re-creation Project all those who provided original photos, materials and locations and stories; those who posed for the new photographs; the Gap Pub, Nolan's of Annagh and Kilanerin Community Centre.

Gap Arts Festival hosted its annual festival weekend on 9th, 10th & 11th August 2019. It was jam-packed with entertainment of Music, Theatre, Arts, Photography, Poetry and much more.

Faces of Festival was brought to Kilanerin Community Field Day. Were a number of people involved the gap camera club and Gap Arts Festival participated in taking photographs of the community.

Congratulations and Thank You to all our helpers in the local St. Patrick’s Day Events.
Coordinated the St. Patrick's Day events, aspects of organisation of funding, gathering volunteers, creative workshops, creating floats, working with local schools and transportation.Â
We attended Coolgreany were we were presented with Coolgreany Best Marching Entry, Gorey presented with 3rd in Group Section. We also attended Carnew St. Patrick’s Day event. The floats consider of Coolgreany National School and Ballythomas National School’s creative works on the sides of the buses supplied and supported by M&F Leonard Coaches Accounts4U and the Gap Pub.

We attended Gorey400 at the Ashdown Park Hotel on Thursday 31st January. There was alots happening to celebrated Gorey400 and the plans displayed for projects in the communities around Gorey. Everyone was invited to join us from 3-9pm Thursday 31st Jan. Our collection of photographs in the Community Portrait Project were shown at the launch of Gorey 400.

Highlights of Past Events
ST. PATRICK'S DAY 2018
17th March 2018
An event I coordinated as part the Gap Arts Festival, was Gap Arts Festival events on St. Patrick's Day. Were the Gap Arts went to the Coolgreany, Carnew and Gorey Parade with a number of elements to the floats, such as the Giant Puppet's which were created by the community as part of the Artist in the Community Scheme in 2017, facilitated by Caoimhe Dunn Artist, Prop & Modelmaker, Puppeteer, Youth & Community Arts Facilitator. Along with motor vehicles provided by Matthew & Fergus Leonard Coaches for transportation with the help of The Gap Pub to promote the creativity the community has to share. This Video was Produced and Edited By Terence White.

In previous years with the festival I have has participated in a number of Artist in the Community Scheme funded by Wexford County Council, facilitated by Terence White, Caoimhe Dunn, Frank Abruzzese & Garreth Keogh at The Gap Arts Festival.

COMMUNITY PORTRAIT PROJECT PHOTOGRAPHY TRAINING COURSE

The Gap Arts Festival Community Portrait Project Photography Training Course
Was a Photography Course, organised by the Gap Arts Festival, facilitated by Frank Abruzzese of Cow House Studios, and funded by Wexford Local Development.

FACES OF FESTIVAL - PORTRAIT PROJECT
Faces of the Festival is a Community Portrait Project. As part of a sub-committee in Gap Arts Festival. We organised a photo took a photograph’s of people in the community. I was involved in organising the project of each session over the weekend, took portraits of the people, administration and distribution of the images.

SHORT FILM - HUNTER
Premiered at Gap Arts Festival 2017:
Short film Hunter, Participated in creating Hunter as part of a team, within the community filmmaking project facilitated by Terence White. Kilanerin Ballyfad Community Development Association. The Project was funded and supported by the Arts Department of Wexford County Council as part of the Artist in the Community Scheme.

HUNTER

This Piece was Premiere in the Shamrock Hall, in Kilanerin Gorey, Co. Wexford on 3rd August 2017.
Screened at the Gap Art Festival on 11th, 12th of August 2017
Screened at Cooney's of Hollyfort on the 1st of September 2017, one of the location of the shoot.

THE GIANT PUPPET'S WORKSHOP
Artist in Community Scheme Project 2017:
The Giant Puppet's workshop which were created by the community as part of the Artist in Community Scheme in 2017, facilitated by Caoimhe Dunn Artist, Prop & Model maker, Puppeteer,Youth & Community Arts Artist Facilitator.
As a participate I was involved in planning with team, preparing display for festival and creating the puppets, documenting the process with Jacinta then further editing of the photographs and video clips taken from the workshops, for social media as part of the festival.

MOBILE DEVICE FILM-MAKING PROJECT
Artist in Community Scheme Project 2016:
Mobile Device Film-making Project piece 'Mindfulness', created as part of Artist in the Community Scheme funded by Wexford County Council, facilitated by Terence White at The Gap Arts Festival 2016, premiered as part of The Gap Arts Festival 2016.
'Mindfulness' was a piece shot on a mobile phone, that captured my journey in
Victor's Way in Roundwood, Co. Wicklow.
As part of the workshops, we experienced, how to use the mobile device to our best advance. Learned numerous skills before creating our own solo piece and going through the editing process.

CREATIVE STORYTELLING PROJECT - THE GHOST POOLS

Creative Storytelling Project
Sound: Storytelling Project, The Ghost Pools performance and sound installation, facilitated by Garreth Keogh. Premiere at the GAP Arts festival. Preformed at Market Place, Gorey. Co. Wexford and Wexford Trail Festival 2015.

FILM PROJECT SHORT - IF THE SHOE FITS
Artist in Community Scheme Project 2014:
Creative Documentary filmmaking project, Produced a short film documentary on Horseshoe Team If the Shoe Fits 2014. Created as part of Artist in the Community Scheme funded by Wexford County Council, facilitated by Terence White at The Gap Arts Festival 2014, premiered as part of The Gap Arts Festival 2014.
The group of ten adults in the community learned about the key aspects of documentary filmmaking: research, documentary prep, interview techniques, camera operation, sound recording, lighting, and post-production.

FILM PROJECT SHORT - CAPTURE
Artist in Community Scheme Project 2013:
Film Project Short, Capture 2013, was chosen for Education section in the Indie Cork Film Festival 2014. Premiered at the GAP Arts festival, 2013.
First film shown at Courthouse Arts Centre, Tinahely, Co. Wicklow, as part of winter film season 2014. Created as part of Artist in the Community Scheme funded by Wexford County Council, facilitated by Terence White at The Gap Arts Festival
